    12v sound

So I was wondering if anyone could explain exactly what is happening in the motor when the 12v sound tune is used from DRD. From what I have been able to find from other places, it has to do with the pilot injection, but have been unable to find anything else on it. Does it help with fuel mileage at all? (have read both ways this side of sunday for and against it helping or not helping), Does it have negative affect on the motor using it daily and while driving? Thanks for the imput.

12V tuning is simply turning off pilot injection. Doesn't hurt a thing. Just makes more noise, but typically does not run well on a cold engine (wait till the engine is warm before engaging a 12V tune to prevent cold misfire and smoke). In theory could yield more mileage, but I doubt you will notice any gains.

I love the 12 valve sound tune. But if anything I see slightly worse MPG than a normal delete tune.

By hand calc or onboard computer?

By hand calculation. Now I just run it just for fun. I get my best MPGs on the 90hp tune with no sound modifiers

Same as what Power said. Love my 12Valve sound but have noticed a drop in mpg’s both hand calculated and computer..... The drop averages about 1-2 mpg. less than in normal tune use.
