I was looking online for options to mount a shovel/axe, or even a high lift jack in the bed of the truck. I want use the area that is on the inside rail just under the lip of the bed, but over the tire hump. Any ideas?

I've never seen something like that, but I don't think it would be too difficult to build. Are you handy with steel or know someone who is?

I need to look at it, but either bolted through the rail or bolted in pocket holes. Then a simple hook and with either rubber lashings or hinged latch either welded nuts and a hand tightened bolt. Sound doable?
