Thread: Revmax valve body replacement time

    Revmax valve body replacement time

Hi all! How long does it take to install a Revmax valve body on 2017 2500, 68RFE in the driveway?

I am not a mechanic, but the process seems pretty straight forward...I already have a mag-hytec pan installed so at least it won't be as messy...

Just wondering if I should expect a couple hours, an entire afternoon or an entire day.

    Thanks!

I have not done one yet but i ordered the billet VB from Next Gen Diesel today. Everything i have read says couple hours max.
Yours should go faster since your pan has a drain plug.

If it’s anything like the 48re then it’s real simple - pull one off and put one up. I will be looking to do this so keep us posted with how it goes!

    Update....all went well...easy process.

Took like 4 hours, but that was me taking my time and triple checking things...could have been quicker for sure.

Getting the trans fluid level all dialed in is a total pain in the butt.

Thanks for update- what’s the reason for vb upgrade? Curious if it’s added power or went bad

Ummm ..just read a lot of good things about upgrading valve body, especially with added power..I also got the bypass valve

Regeared to 4.10s a while back.

I guess just trying to make some mods here and there to hopefully help the transmission

Interested in how that VB from next Gen Diesel does with it being quite a bit more pricey than others.

Looks good on the website but no reviews on it yet.

Quite a few of reviews on other forums being pretty new on the market. As for longevity who knows but it has a lifetime warranty. Here is a good video explaining how and why its the best on the market.

Thermostatic bypass valve? That allows the trans fluid to circulate through the cooler at all times? I just ordered one from ATS. Have not installed it yet, hoping more beneficial than harmful.

Installed Revmax valve body & bypass about a week ago. Trans temp seems to be about 135 - 140 unloaded.

Pulled 8,000 lb travel trailer last few days...temps were around 150, 155 or so
