    Integrated exhaust brake

Hi everyone. I have a turbo back exhaust question.

I just fot my 5” Flo Pro exhaust system in the mail today. Yay!! Even the fed ex guy at the door was like, “oh, you’re Gonna have fun with that!” I just grinned from ear to ear.

My my question is once I do the install of the turbo back system, will I lose the function of the integrated exhaust brake?

If if anyone can shed some light on this subject I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a 2014 2500 Megacab Laramie, 135k miles. S&B cold air intake. No other mods. I plan to also do a full EGR delete and get some custom tuning by Ray over at DoubleRDiesel in the near future.

At at the moment I was just wondering if I lose the integrated exhaust brake once I do the turbo back delete.

    thanks again

    alex

    Re: Integrated exhaust brake

The exhaust brake is built into the turbo. Exhaust will not affect its functionality. Be prepared for your truck to sound like a jet engine when it's enabled and fully closed

You are planning to tune your truck first before you add the exhaust?

Yes I won’t remove anything until I get my tunes and make sure the tuner works and flashes The ECM.

Awesome! Yeah I love my whistle tune. Sounds like it’s taking off from a runway. LOL

Keep in mind that the VGT actuator is known to cause problems. Sometimes it can be cleaned and it's fixed, other times it may need to be replaced and it is most definitely cheaper to get an aftermarket one with no actuator rather then to spend the high dollar on getting one with an actuator.

Always have a little fund on the side if it ever happens to ya!

Been getting a lot of calls lately and turbo sales is why i mention this.

One of these days, when you're rich and famous, you should become a dealer.

This stuff will keep that turbo running smooth. Run the fuel system cleaner as it acts as a decarboning agent as well. Regular use of the fuel treatment prevents a carbon buildup. There's another thread I just reactivated introducing this to you new guys. "Archoil not snake oil"
