    Screen Removal

    Hello everyone,

Im giving some thought to the screen. Im not going to leave the screen installed all the time. The down side to this is wearing out the micro USB connection on the back by plugging ang unplugging. I don't drive the truck everyday mostly on the weekends. Has anyone had any problems with this? Do most people just leave it installed all the time?

One option is to get a micro USB coupler and leave it plugged into the screen. This way it is replaceable along with the cable.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Cheers,
    CMB

Why do you want to remove it is my question?

I only ever took mine out of my truck when it was going into service at a dealer other than my preferred, or if I was valeting the truck (which was basically never)

My truck is older and I have the Smarty Touch, but I put in a new column post that has an opening for the unit and there it sits for years. Why uncouple it ?

Mainly for theft reasons. Concerned about a broken window and missing unit.

Not sure if insurance would cover my "added electronic gauges".

    I'll call and ask them.

    Thanks,

To be honest for me most people think the MM3 Monitor is a GPS.

I do however on hot days I place my MM3 down off the dash and window.

    Thanks,
I feel ya on this brother!

At least if some jack-wad does lift it we can still drive our truck and most likely your insurance will cover it but doesn’t hurt to have a rider.

I tinted my windows so it wasn’t so obvious and to keep it a bit cooler as we do have some 80/90 degree days here in northern Mich.
