What!!! Is the horn bolted directly over this? Is the exhaust manifold routed through here to get out the tail pipe?

LOL EGR is Exhaust Gas Return. Yes some exhaust goes right back in. This is why egr is bad. And many delete.

I guess that's why I'm not understanding. Truck is deleted now. So my question is that passage through the soot the route from exhaust manifold to tailpipe or is it a no longer used route from post exhaust manifold back to egr valve (in which case it shouldn't matter if it's sooted up as long as it doesnt extend and disturb airflow through the exhaust out

This is where it's supposed to get fresh clean air. Exhaust Gas Return has been on gas vehicles for years. But when used on a diesel this is the result. You are good now that it is deleted, but you are still gonna have some soot built up from 80K of not being deleted. If it's your problem with fuel mileage tanking or not, I can't know for sure, but would lean towards no. Only reason I brought it up is it could be. Start with the map sensor as I and many have said. If that works, don't worry too much about what your grid heater may or may not look like. It won't get any worse from here now that you deleted.

Thank you! I'll do some more research into its purpose, in thought it was used to heat the fuel in low temps using exhaust. I will hopefully figure something out later today.

It is used to heat but not with exhaust. Some people living in areas with milder temps delete them completely.

Got the map sensor changed out. It was nasty. Still getting low turbo pressure and low air flow. Cleaning maf sensor next

Would like to know this as well. I'd really like to log pulls for fine tuning.

Also it would be great to be able to log my transmission in grave detail and find out why my downshifts feel like they're going to rip the Trans out.

Pretty sure my clutches are slipping on downshift 😐😐😐

Matt are referring to your Warp tuning? If so and if it's that bad, why haven't you contacted me?
