After diggin in the chime indicated a fuel delivery error. My #6 injector feed line had a SLIGHT leak- not enough to leave a puddle. I only figured this out by checking the injector lines and snugging then one by one.

    might be worth a shot
I had a 05 5.9l and it had a fresh motor in it and they didn't install the injectors and feed tubes right and it had an internal fuel leak, but it would chime 10 times in a row. This one is just doing one single chime and no other lights or messages is coming on.

I have an 03 and sometimes I get a random chime and have found one of my brake lights not getting a constant connection and chiming but not enough to turn on the lamp out light in the dash.

Ok, I've been looking online and it seems most of everybody's problem is some sort of light issue. I'm go. A try to check that tomorrow! Thanks!

    Hope it helps.

On my truck it does usually blow the bulb with in a few days of the first chime but I'm not sure how old they were I've had my truck just under a year and half.

I did try to clean and put some dielectric grease in each light socket.

I think I might've found the problem. Reverse light and tail lights both worked, but they all had a black tent to them. I replaced them and so far so good!

I had one look the same when I replaced one of them. I hope you have no more issues.

Do you have the 7in screen radio? I would get a single, very subtle, chime whenever a marked 'favorite song' came on the Sirius. It sounds stupid.....but no lights or anything on the dash abnormal. Just appeared with a little 'favorite song' banner on the top of the radio for a few seconds then it would go away. I am ashamed to say it took months to figure out what the heck it was....

    1997 Dodge Ram 2500- 4x4- 275k miles - Phat Shaft turbo - Tuned AFC- Billet TQ - Water/meth injection - 5in Turbo back

    2018 Ram 2500 4x4 - DRD MM3 - 4in delete pipe - TBD.....
