I'd consider the state laws for anywhere you feel you will possibly move to. Then go the way of the hardest to register in. If it mean you can not delete, then don't. I came from California and they had crazy standards, so I ended up not doing anything that would cause me hell when registering. The cost alone was unbearable. I'm finally in a state I can do what ever I want and the only problem is do I have enough money and time to do it.

If in the New England area, can you live in a state that allows deletes and drive to work in a state that pays best ? One good thing is there are a few very small states there to consider this.

I saw the title, and grabbed my bible (well, opened the app on my iPad), then I opened the thread and realized you needed emissions advice. It's simple- Delete unless you live in a heavy-handed state.

I'm in Jersey. I can probably fix up the damaged wiring for you fairly easily. It'll cost you a day, materials and a Pizza. I do stuff like that for members. Just try to plan it on a nice day. weather like we're having today would be fine if I'm not driving cars or bus's for the dealer.

Rhode Island is a tree hugger state. He might be best leaving everything in place. Jersey is too, but so under budget on Motor Vehicle. I'm exempt from inspection. But who cares. It's an 03. If it was my 08, I'd be screwed. LOL

I also have some codes that come up regularly. The mechanics can’t seem to find anything wrong and the truck still runs and works like a champion though it’s way beyond any warranty. My solution, a $50 code reader. When the codes come up, (P1C54,P249E,P20EE, every 10,000 to 15,000 K) I just erase them with the CR. Takes 5 minutes and everything under the truck is still factory stock and legal. It runs clean and strong. Cheap solution, worth trying, CR is a handy tool anyway. Good luck
