    Florida problems

So I’m not much on snow, it never gets cold here. But we are taking my truck to Alabama to hunt and they just got 6” of snow... it’s an 04.5 3rd gen, where is the piece located to plug the truck in if I have to? I’ve never had to use it on this truck so not sure where to look

don't need to plug it in.
If it doesn't have the cable, you'll need to source one, and it plugs into the block just behind the oil filter.
but really, don't worry about it. cycle the grid heaters, and it'll start just fine.

Agree, it you were going to Canada or say any state below the US/Canadian border, and they usually have one heck of a snow fall and know what real cold is, you'll fine. I'm in Tennessee, even through the coldest winter we had in the last decade, never needed to plug it in yet.

(Oh, just make sure you give it a minute to warm up and lube properly before running her.)

Agreed also. If it were January or February, I'd say maybe. My 03 starts every time. Balks a bit, but it fires right up.

If you want to get one, go to @Geno's Garage. They are sponsors here.

The block heater is located behind the oil filter

This is really the only time I’ll ever use it. So I’m probably just gonna let it ride then. I didn’t know if I’d have to plug it up or not mostly. I’m sure it’ll love that cold air once it’s warm though.. it’s loving what little bit we have gotten so far

I guess you'll find out if the heater works then. LOL Just let it idle long enough for it to smooth out and you'll be fine. It will warm up faster if you drive it then letting it sit there idling.

It's 26 here. I didn't even wait for the grid heater and it popped right off today
