I want in on this one. Like opening a can of worms. Yet still a good topic.

    Just found this today:
    http://www.truckinginfo.com/channel/...additives.aspx

    Cummins never recommend additives before.
But until a few years ago, they never recommended any oil either. Now they recommend Valvoline Premium Blue and also put it in every engine before shipping out.

Sadly that's true. That's why I said I'm not wanting it to be a VS thread. Just a experience topic
As for the Valvoline Blue. My 09 doesn't like it

I run Archoil fuel treatment every tank during the winter. It quiets the engine and adds a bit of the lost fuel milage from winter blend.

What he said. I discovered the Archoil line of products a couple of years ago. I abandon everything I have been using for years and just use their stuff. Their friction modifier really works, You can feel it in your fingers! It works in everything I put it in. The fuel additive is just what Greg said and keeps the carbon buildup down. It's more economical to use than the others too. The fuel system cleaner does a great job de-carboning cylinders and even seems to clear up VGT problems.

    Re: Oil additives

I started using Archoil AR6200 a few months ago (Recommended by @Polaraco), just finished my second bottle and I've noticed easier starts, smoother idling and acceleration. I'm also just about at the end of my first tank full of AR6400-D fuel cleaner. I can't really say I've noticed any difference, except as noted before. So I'm going to run another bottle of fuel system cleaner through and make a decision on whether it works for me.

    Re: Oil additives

The best product for my oil and specific vehicle and conditions I've found has been Hot Shots Stiction Eliminator
Since the fuel additives have been mentioned. I use theirs as well with best results

I'm never against something different if it will give me the results I'm looking for. Along with the same or better for my truck

With the HS Stiction Eliminator the ratio is extremely high but cost isn't bad at all for what I pay for it locally

    Re: Oil additives

Rev-X is priced so high. I'd have to really see and hear about some 1st hand results before spending that kind of money on it

Archoil has a better price point and seems to have similar results to what I'm used to. I can't say better myself without actually using it in my own truck
That's what I'm leaning toward since I just did my change and can put it in fresh
