    @F350Cummins

    Al, this is what I needed the thread pitch for. I ran this adaptor off on the lathe tonight. We need to hold the dial indicator steady so we can adjust the backlash on the ring gear.I had to turn a piece of 1/2" drill rod to 8 MM so I could thread it. Looks like I had to take .025 or so on the shaft to adapt the indicator holder. I didn't bother to measure anything on that side. Lazy. Vanierred it. So much for special tools. . . .

    Thanks Clayton

    Not handy. I'll take one for you.

    In this case, it's good to have the tools. That little adaptor is crude by some standards because I didn't take the time to change the speeds. I just slammed through it. Came out OK for the amount it will be used.
    @F350Cummins will tell you what my shop looks like. . . A place for everything and everything in it's place. Problem is, there's no places left. In order to make some floor and cabinet space, I have to build a new welding cart. Sigh Dual tanks, Mig, Tig and Plasma welder with the aluminum attachment. For the first time in 25 years, my Hot wrench's have the tanks secured with chains. It used to be a piece of twine going to the door track.

    For the want of a heated garage I can put a truck in and work.

    I crawled under and pulled a bolt. FYI, it an 8MM with a 1.25 thread pitch. I'm going to make a dial indicator holder to mount it solid. It's nice to have all this stuff.
