    After market fuel filters

So I stopped in at auto zone and picked up some duralast fuel filters. It was for a 2015 ram the cartridge filter in the engine compartment. I noticed the mop at filter had a screen inside and the duralast filter didn’t. I installed it and was looking up the specs of the filter the duralast is a 7 micron filter and Mopar has a 3 micron cut point. So the question is do you guys think the duralast will be allright or should I change it out?

I can say for us older trucks, the minimum micron is recommended at 7 micron or less. The smaller micron rating the better. The injectors are what can be affected with larger debris in the fuel. I believe in a fuel/water seperator (min 8 micron) and a final fuel filter (min 3 micron). And if you keep the original fuel filter, its fine to, another water collection point never hurts. It helps keeps the injectors and high pressure pumps from wearing.

For a 6.7 injectors, absolutely not. Those injectors are very sensitive. best get a tighter filter. Fortunately you have 2 filters.

Stay away from anything in the AutoZone label. Better yet, go to advance or Napa and insist on a better brand. OR! Get your filters from @Geno's Garage . They sell Fleetguard which is owned by Cummins and the ones used by Ram.

Not that often Dan. I buy filters mostly. I usually buy a case of oil and several fuel at a time. Buy hard parts as needed when I can plan the job
