I'll continue to use this thread till I'm done ( with compound ).
Some of these kits offer an exhaust manifold from a 3rd to 2nd gen. I know the difference but is there a benefit. Is centered that much better? Seems like Dodge would've kept that design if so. With that, If I did utilize the stock manifold would it restrict flow? Are the second gens less restrictive or are they upgraded from their stock design? What are everyone's thoughts? Thanks!

2nd Gen flows the best, and gives you the most room to fit a bigger, or compounds under the hood easier. That's really the benefit to swapping out to a 2nd gen. The factory 6.7 manifold is the most restrictive, and kinda sticks the turbo in a spot that really limits options.
The exhaust manifolds on these things make no sence to me. They have to flow half assed
2003- 3500 RWD Automatic. S & B intake, BD Intercooler, Pusher Air Horn, MM3 Double R Tuning, Turbo Timer, electric Flex-a-lite fans, FASS 95, 50 HP tips, upgrade to 351 turbo, 3.42 gears, Twin air compressors, air bags, Remote dual oil filters, Hellwig sway bar, Front Winch. Home made Fuel Heater, BD Exhaust brake with Torque Lock. Tons of TLC
That's my hang up now. Thinking I'll be just fine with the stock 3rd gen manifold. Don't want to put one of these together and EGTs are still high while pulling.?.?
