    68RFE Factory Rebuilt Transmission?

I know a alot of stuff, but transmissions aren't 1 of them.

    My 2016 Ram threw codes P0734 & P0735.

It's at a trusted car/truck repair shop, and after checking all wires and sensors, they recommend a rebuilt 68RFE transmission, warrantied for 5 years through them and 10 years through RAM, for $8000.

The truck has an MM3 tune installed, and the tuner is installed.

Is this a fair price, and would I have to change any settings on the tune?

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

I would look hard at their “warranty” and verify that there is no “out” for them because of the tuning.

I guess that the warranty is bs based on that.

I haven’t priced a “built” trans lately, but would be looking at RevMax or equivalent, instead of a std rebuild.

2021 Ram 3500 DRW, H.O., bypass oil filtration, bypass coolant filtration, S&B CAI, 4:10’s
    2wd low loc kit.
Reacquired 2001 3500, 5.9 nv4500, dually cab and chassis, 5” straight pipe, edge juice w/attitude. Otherwise all stock…..for now.

The price depends on many variables.

What you like to hold/tow HP/Torque Upgrades you plan or dream of later!!

Anytime you have a switchable power rating, you're way overloading the STD parts in these trans OD drum or TQ single Plate.

At these shift points, things slip and burn.

If you're looking for an STD-style rebuild and remove your tune, then keep STOCK.

If you're looking for a built trans, the sky is the limit!

There are support vendors here to call to discuss your inquiry, and a discount on forum membership!

The Tunes Here will also be the best on the market and support whichever power rating you choose.

When you're dealing with this Trans Dodge, it is the weakest on the market and one of the most expensive to build, but doing it multiple times costs more, so plan your build.

PICK a Builder that knows these trans and your goals!!

DO YOUR RESEARCH and BTW, Re-gearing HELP SO MUCH!!

    Hope that helps.

Please DM these are the Admins here and wealth of knowledge: IGOTACUMMINS, AK Bob, watersupply189

They have links and vendors to help you limit the misinformation.

I would never rebuild to stock factory, STOCK sucks.

BTW, I think Dodge will NEVER cover an extended warranty on a deleted truck. Also Calibration In ECU/Tcm. Where they Upload if dealer and not in the same area where you had installed or built.

Just saying, most require uploads to verify warranty, inspections, ECU TCM codes, and Data to Dodge servers.

    What size are your tires?

Still running the suck 3.42 gears?

I'm with the other guys, get a built unit and put it in yourself.

    Look at RevMax's warranty.

If it ever needs anything, 150k down the road, a refresh is $1500 and $800 for the TC.

Buy once, cry once, and trans drop and replace isn't hard.

    HTS transmissions in Lowell, Michigan.

    Did my buddy's transmission rebuild.

    He's good for 600-700 hp.

Did the trans rebuild, new tune, rear main seal, and he paid $9735.00.
