I just saw this and yea I forgot to update my thread on when I finally put it on the truck. I have no issues with mine. no issues with the threads. just be smart and make sure you don't cross thread.

I just realized I didn’t put oring in new cap- oring is bigger than factory housing - have factory back in for now

When I checked the leaking billet cap my oring was down around bottom of threads- I installed factory on with the oring in the same place and no leaks- I guess I got one of the wonky ones. Now I remember why I haven’t bought cheap stuff for this truck LOL- black market CAT filter here I come
That is where the oring sits on mine too.
Sounds like a machining defect in the cap.
That would explain why it was hard to thread on too.
Mine spins on and snugs up easily by hand.

Well come fall when it’s time to change the filters I will find out if I was one of those (Suckers)- that are born every minute.
This arrived yesterday figured I would share a few pics.
Rather than start a new thread (poor forum etiquette?), I’ll ask this simple question here…
I have the el-cheapo iFJF cap too.
I’ve read the horrid reviews about how they leak and are near impossible to remove after they age but I have also read that it is crucial to lubricate the O-ring (and threads) upon installation to insure that the cap can be removed (without a Sawzall) at your next filter change.

So my questions is:
Okay, I’ll lube the threads & O-ring but lube them with what?
DW-40?
Motor oil?
3-In-One?
Bearing grease?
I’m afraid to install the new billet cap until I get an answer.
Thanks!
