Just like what you are saying, when I leave the truck for a couple hours then it will revert back to the normal sound. I believe it has to do with how the memory works within the ECM and it takes time to dump the RAM and revert back to normal. Definitely post your findings from Ray when you reach out.

@Double R Diesel wasn't this issue fixed with Switch?

But the switch function for adjusting hp levels is the same no matter how long the truck is off. Any advice?
:woohoo:
Normal. RT tunes are a write to the Random Access Memory and therefore will clear themselves out once the ecm goes to sleep.
Now this is not to be confused to what the switch function does. The switch tells the ecm to access certain data stored in the Read Only Memory, which does not change after the ecm goes to sleep.

Re: RT tunes not staying when truck is shut off
If the programming option "* send only once" is chosen will the sound file stay after the ecm goes to sleep? I have fallen in love with the whistle tune, quieter, better throttle response and the best mileage on my truck of all the tunes.
Re: RT tunes not staying when truck is shut off
No sir. Any RT tune will go away after the ecm goes to sleep.

Re: RT tunes not staying when truck is shut off
Thanks! I had assumed that upon future restarts the mm3 would auto-send the 'send only once' sound file. My assumption was wrong. Then it seems there would be no difference between choosing the '* send only once' menu item vs the regular rt menu option? Thanks again for your expertise it is illuminating

I have the switch tuning and have my sound tune set for every key cycle and it will load up the whistle tune every time I start the truck.
