Aftermarket Turbo Recommendations
I've recently started having the common communication issues with the turbo actuator on my truck.
I'm wondering if there are aftermarket Turbo options that will eliminate the need for the actuator and a better turbo as well.
Just a little browsing and it seems the turbo would only a bit more expensive than the actuator.
My concern would be if there are other things that will need upgrading to make it work.
My truck is pretty much all stock.
Only real upgrades I've done is 5"turbo back exhaust and EFI Live tuner.
I have right at 160k and this is my first issue with the truck and prefer to make a smarter move with it.

Good morning sir, we have a solution that will replace the turbo actuator and allow you to keep your stock turbo if it is still in good shape.
Shoot us an email and ill be happy to go over details.
Re: Aftermarket Turbo Recommendations
I'd probably get a Fleece Cheetah if you want to keep VGT; or preferably, do a 2nd Gen swap for a fixed geometry turbo and then you need to do some research on what size you want to go with.
Re: Aftermarket Turbo Recommendations
Have you guys looked into the XR1?
Seems to be like a cheetah but uses a new core instead of an rebuild.
Re: Aftermarket Turbo Recommendations
I have a Fleece Cheete 63mm turbo on my pickup and I love it.
I would hate to go without an exhaust brake while towing.
Re: Aftermarket Turbo Recommendations
Not many running that relative to cheetah/screamer due to price point I believe.
Polished compressor housing is a nice feature.
There are hardly any failures (none im aware of) with a cheetah so reliability is not an issue like factory charger.

This pretty much sums it up right here.
Cheetah is a rock solid stock upgrade unit.
Otherwise, to see any real gains from a fixed geometry turbo, you really need to go 2nd (or even 3rd) gen swap.
Personally, I would get a Cheetah.
Whenever my stock unit decides to go live on a farm in Wisconsin, that's the direction I'm going.

That’s a solid choice for a “factory” replacement.
Spools a little faster than VGT does and has much better drive pressure and good power throughout the band.
If you want a stock-ish charger with a bump in power the 364.5 is the way to go.
I’m running it now and super happy with it.
Kits are still on sale for Black Friday but about to end so get em while you can for cheap!
