Re: New MM3 user questions
Bump.
Also, is there an option to ignore a CEL after removing the grid heater? That would be great!

I installed my DRD tuned MM3 a few days ago... questions.
1) Can I select a tune "on the fly" or do I need to be sitting still idling after start up waiting for it to load?
2) I have not set the tuner up to start with a specific tune at start up. Does this mean its running stock if I don't select a tune?
3) Do most of you set it up so it always runs a tune like a 60HP tune at start up? If you do have it set up for a 30, 60, etc. on start up, what if you want to change to a 90 or 120 just for one drive?
4) What do you all use for towing? Do you turn on the tow/haul mode on the truck? Do you turn off the overdrive, limit shifting to 5 gears etc. while running the tune?
5) What are you all showing on your display? What gauges have you chose? I have an EGT sensor to install but as for the rest I'm trying to decide what is best and would like to know what others are doing.
6) I will be adding a lift and 37s hopefully next week. I haven't looked for it yet but was told there is a way to adjust tire size so MPH reads correctly. Probably a silly question but I assume when I adjust the tire size in the MM3 it will correctly adjust the speedometer on the MM3 display but the speedometer on the truck will be off right? The MM3 doesn't control any of the truck displays right?
Thanks a lot for the help.

1. You can switch tunes in motion...just keep your eyes on the road.
2. If you don't select a tune via the RT menu, the truck will be running on the default tune.
3. That's totally up to you. I like a 60HP tune for an everyday tune personally.
4. Run tow haul mode and ride when towing.
5. Totally up to you.
6. You can adjust the speedometer via the abs menu with the tire size option. Enter a tire size with the igniton on but without the engine running and then road test. May take a few tries.

That you have to ask your tuner for.
Re: New MM3 user questions
PWRWAGN, hope you don't mind but I am going to hijack your post.
I have received my MM3 and DRD Tunes I am planning on installing this weekend. I have a couple of question that I am sure are in the forum somewhere but I have been reading for 2 days and cannot seem to get exactly what I am looking for.
1. I chose the 90hp ECM file, after installing the file in the truck can I unplug turner and drive without issues or lights? I travel often and do not want to leave the tuner sitting in the window at the airport for sticky fingers to be tempted. I would rather unplug it and leave it home on days I travel (airport is about 20 miles round trip).
2. The first answer may solve this one, if/when I get a new truck can I keep the tuner? and the truck will be locked at the 90hp file (unless I return to stock). And as long as it is not re-flashed the new owner will not have issues, or will I need to leave the tuner or replace all hard parts back to stock?
3. Would I be able to use the tuner on a new truck? (understanding I will need new tunes)?
Thanks for a great forum and place for superb information.

Yes you can unplug the tuner.

I believe the "license is locked to that vin" if you go back to stock you have to reinstall all parts that fell off or the truck will not run
3. Would I be able to use the tuner on a new truck? (understanding I will need new tunes)?
You can use it again just need to purchase another license from your tuner
Please correct me if I am mistaking yall!!!!!
