Fender Flare Damage To Clearcoat
I just removed my fender flares from my truck, and it's rubbed down the clear coat where they touched the fender's surface.
Is there a product I can use to remove or at least improve the looks of this?
Thinking like a rubbing or polishing compound!
I should have realized it would do this when I put them on, but I didn't.
I hope it is not down through the clear coat and into the paint.

Unless it's through the clear, it's an easy fix for someone that knows what they're doing.
Highly doubt it's through the clear but post a pic and let us see what you're working with.
I've seen some flare removal needing medium-cut starting, and some need just a light/finishing polish.

It is hard to get a good pic of, but this is what I have so far.
There are a few small areas where I can see it's through the paint cause I can see the gray base coat/primer minimal areas less than 1/4 "

Have you tried waxing and buffing it out yet?

I actually worked on a small spot last night for about 5 minutes with some 3m rubbing compound, and I think it will come out.
It's going to take a lot of elbow grease, though, cause I don't have a buffer (I always been scared I'd do more damage than good).
I was also told to try polishing the compound instead; not quite as abrasive, I think.

Yeah, I would use a polishing compound being less abrasive.
Let us know how it turns out with pics. [emoji106]
