2010 6.7 Turbo out? 196,000 miles.
So my 2010 Dodge 6.7 which has an h&s black max and full delete since 10,000 and currently at 196,000 miles through a couple codes and now I notice when you have the engine break button on it doesn't "Jake down" and it's not building boost as it used too.
I'm guessing the vanes are stuck and a new turbo is on the order list? If so, anyone one has a preferred kit?
Thanks

FWIW, I have a 2010 as well, with the original Holset VGT turbo. Last August I got the P2262 and cleaned my turbo. It's been running well since the cleaning. There is limited information on line about the cleaning, but you can run a couple bottles of cleaner to free it up. It's not a guarantee though. Here's a video on it:cummins 6.7 turbo flush - YouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN82utCPGgY .

Take the intake pipe off the front of the turbo nd feel for sideplay and in and out. Look for scuff marks on the housing at the edge of the blades. Do you hear a hissing?
Could be it's time to talk to the @Dude's Diesel Performance . Avoid price buying against a quality rebuild if you are going in that direction. Dude has a good rebuilder from what I have heard

I do have a great rebuilder but it will cost almost as much as a new aftermarket turbo. If you want a drop in replacement to keep that exhaust brake then it may be beneficial but i like to recommend to get away from the VGT. It's a problem causer and expensive.

Don't build him up too much. We'll have to get shoe horns to get his head through the door

LOL well thankfully I’m far from that type of personality. So no need to worry about that at all
