RaceME Ultra or MM3 for 3rd Gen 6.7L Cummins?

OK, so I've read through the sticky and done some searching on this debate but still curious to ask for my specific situation.

Truck is an '07.5 with deleted 6.7 and 68RFE.

Currently using an old RaceME Mini Tuner that I inherited from the previous owners.

At some point I would like to have the ability to use custom tunes and from what's out there the RaceME Ultra and MM3 are most appealing.

Was swayed to the MM3/DRD combo from this forum but just noticed some deals on the Ultra and money is tight at the moment so I'm tempted to pick one up and run the box tunes for a bit then get warp tuning from DRD later.

Good idea or bad idea and why?

Most of the positives I've read on the MM3 are that it works on more model years or can tune more VIN's.

For me that doesn't matter since I'm only concerned with my '07.

Given that are there any other functional differences with the MM3 that I'll miss with the Ultra?

Sometimes the RaceME Ultras cause Turbo Surging and the Trans tuning leaves a lot to be desired friend.

That makes sense that the box tunes on the RaceME Ultra would not be as good.

Curious if running the same custom tunes if there are any advantages to either platform.
