Is My Turbo Spposed To Be Really Loud?
Hello everyone, I’m a new Cummins owner.
I have 2014 2500 that I recently deleted using an ezlynk and 5-stage tune from motorops.
Currently, I’m waiting for a complete exhaust, but for now, it only has the downpipe.
Whenever the truck is idling, even when it’s hot, the turbo sound is so loud that I can hear the engine.
I know someone with a hood stack that sounds like a tractor.
I’m not sure if it is a whistle tune or something is going on with the turbo vanes.
Any info is appreciated.
This is what it sounds like.

Sounds like a whistle tune on it.

Yep, it's a whistle tune if the motor is warmed up.
Eventually, once the motor warms up enough, it'll kick itself off the exhaust brake at idle.
If its the actual tune, it will remain on until physically changed

My VGT TURBO sounds the same it’s just the opening and closing of the variable gate.
If you have any additional information please let me know.
