Re: Engine fuel filter lid was a pain!
something like a strap wrench is probably going to be your only hope... and if you break the housing then I guess its time for a new plastic housing

Since you need a new cover anyway I highly recommend the billet fuel filter cap from Geno's. I replaced mine last filter change. I'm actually looking forward to changing the filter next time.

You need to buy the billet aluminum CUMMINS fuel filter lid from Genos Garage and 28mm socket from Genos Garage once you get lid off
before you go any further order that stuff and then get that stupid plastic lid off anyway you can and throw it out :tard:
Re: Engine fuel filter lid was a pain!
You can’t really get on nut on filter housing with straight socket you need wobble extension and universal joint to get on nut and flex head ratchet ;)

I don't know what they look like. I never changed mine. I bypassed it with a external pump within the first 5K miles. I moved the oil filters remote too.
Click a couple of pictures. Maybe the old fart can come up with an idea
Re: Engine fuel filter lid was a pain!
I had all of that it still slipped.....??
Re: Engine fuel filter lid was a pain!
I saw the filter kit today.....once I get this issue resolved....and my delete and tuner installed. That’s the next project!
Re: Engine fuel filter lid was a pain!
The socket isn’t a 1 1/8 SAE it is 28mm will not slip or strip head of nut especially on the billet Cummins Aluminum Filter Lid from Genos Garage ;)
Re: Engine fuel filter lid was a pain!
