Installed Thuren Kit - Things Don't Seem Right
Disclaimer: I purchased a 2.75"/1" Thuren kit with King 2.0 shocks from a local guy.
The springs were in perfect shape but with no rear sway bar links (purchased myself new afterward).
Shocks were blown, and I rebuilt them with King rebuild parts, nitrogen-charged to 150psi per King rep. Stock track bar, Thuren rear track bar.
When I bought the truck used, it came with a 3.5"/2" spacer kit on stock Bilsteins.
I knew I was going to lose lift a bit, but boy does it seem off.
The rear sway bar links point down about 20 degrees unloaded, and the tops of my rear shocks are level with the bottom of the frame hole, so it seems like I have about 4-5" before the shock bottoms out.
I towed my 28' camper with them last weekend, and the squat was embarrassing.
With barely anything in the bed, I was 3" lower in the back than the front, with about 1" between the axle and the bump stop.
I was expecting something akin to what Carli has with their 1000 lbs in the bed pictures.
Additionally, I lowered my tire pressures to 50/50 psi to try and get rid of high rebound wheel hop, but it's still there.
I could go down more in the rear, but I don't think it will help much.
Q1: Did I maybe get a 0" spring in the rear instead of the 1" lift?
Q2: Any concern about adding a 1" spacer in the back?
Q3: Could going from a 3.5"/2" kit to a 2.75"/1"? kit but the radius arm bushings/links in such a bind that it would exacerbate wheel hop on; small bumps?

Agree, something is not right.
Hopefully, someone with some expertise in this area will chime in with some good advice.

So does the truck sit level?
The sway bar links are definitely too long.
Thuren springs sag a lot more than factory with weight on the hitch or in bed.

From ground to fender lip is 45" front, 44.5" rear, parked on a slight incline and about 100 lbs in the bed with 3/4 tank of fuel.
So, I'd say it's level.

Also, I just ordered a Firestone airbag kit, just in case I end up keeping this setup on the truck.

The front end should be nose down a tad bit.
If it looks perfect or the front end looks a tad higher than the rear, you probably got stock rear springs.
It sounds like you need to contact Thuren fab or CJC off-road and ask them about that rear spring.

Re: Installed Thuren Kit - Things Don't Seem Right
I called them this morning; TF35RS is a 1" higher rear spring, so that is correct.
Also stated that rear sway arms should be slightly downward, and the wiper cap should be around the bottom of the frame.
So, hardware-wise, this seems correct.
Going to go down to 45/40 psi and see how that feels.
Also going to get an alignment soon.
Re: Installed Thuren Kit - Things Don't Seem Right
I've been in a lot of kings.
I'd be surprised if the shocks were blown, and if they were, I might be a little concerned about who's been in them before and if you got all the parts replaced adequately.
Did you happen to spec the entire shim stack when you rebuilt it so that you may ask Don what valve you have?
If somebody plans to tow frequently, they will add rebound.
I run about 47 psi front and 32 PSI rear until I have more than 300-400 lb in the bed
Remember that stuff is designed to droop out a ton and not have a ton of up travel.
Also, alignment is a must.
It would help if you got your specs from their website in the tech section.
Read through there for an understanding of why they differ from stock.

Also, when you install your airbags, get some Daystar cradles to maintain the suspension systems abilities.

Re: Installed Thuren Kit - Things Don't Seem Right
Daystar cradles and Firestone airbags are in, not driven yet.
Inflated to the minimum of 5 psi, the truck sits 1.25" higher in the rear than the front.
I was under the impression that the airbags would not contact the cradles until a load was in the truck, but that's totally not true.
I'm not even sure why people would opt for the cradles vs. just using the bottom brackets.
Maybe the bags don't extend as much with the brackets vs. the cradles.
I rebuilt the Kings myself.
All new seal kits for all fours and one rear shock required a new shaft.
Inflated to 150 psi per King rep I ordered the stuff from.
I was meticulous in keeping the shim stack in the right order.
I am now down to 45/42psi.
Also, I have discovered that my passenger side tire rubs the sheet metal in turn.
Guess that needs a trim; I didn't do that before.
I currently think this is likely an alignment issue more than anything.
I will get on the rack soon to get one performed.
I plan on getting a track bar first to rule that out too.
