Hey all,
In speaking with my tuner and a well-accredited shop, it looks like I may go the compound turbo route.
Has anyone gone this route?
If so, what all was needed, and was it worth it?
My goal is to make a badass daily that functions as my work truck as well.

It really depends on if you're doing 2 fixed vein turbos or doing an add-turbo kit to your factory turbo.

I did go the more price route and add a turbo kit will do.
I went with a Steed Speed T4i exhaust manifold.
I swapped the stock turbo for a Cheetah Fleece 63mm because I wanted a VGT with exhaust brake and then a Borg Warner 475 atmospheric turbo.
I used a Pusher Compound kit.
I also opted for a bank's intercooler and used a Pusher intake and a heater grid delete.
I left fueling stock as far as the CP3 and the injectors are concerned, but I did go with a fleece lift pump to make sure.
Another little touch for the added boost I did was an after-market valve cover venting into a catch can.
It's all tuned and calibrated by DRD.
I've had this kit now for about 35k miles.
My favorite feature is how quieter the truck is inside the cabin, and somehow it just drones the noise correctly.
Overall, amazing throttle response with an instant boost.
It almost feels as if the truck isn't even trying on the highway, and lane changes are a breeze.
Extremely smooth power bands throughout the RPMs, with amazing towing.
My suggestion if you are going down this route is to get fleece AC lines and heat wrap them.
They will pass through the kit, and the heat of the turbos cost me a pair about 10k miles in.
Also, your transmission will be on borrowed time.
Somehow I'm still on the stock trans 35k miles in.
I drive aggressively, town and taking long trips with the family.
I have an ATS stage 4 in the crate ready to go in, pending a few more parts.
Let me know if you have any other specific questions.
I would imagine drive pressure is through the roof with the add-a-turbo options keeping stock VGT.
Kind of what's pushed me away from doing compounds that way, but I could be a little off.
I personally don't want it to snowball into building even more of the motor.
I am in the middle of trying to purchase a compound piping kit that will mount my 3rd gen manifold s362 to an S476SXE, and nobody on planet earth makes a kit for it.
All of the kits are stock, and add a turbo S400 kit.
I need an S300/S400 kit for 3rd gen style manifold for my 17 6.7L.
Does anyone know any Fab companies out there other than WC fab?

EDIT: after a little bit of thinking and checking the steed speed website - pretty sure the flange is the only difference between 3rd and 4th gen manifolds, so you should be able to get any add a turbo kit and it should mate up with the location of your current 3rd gen swapped S300 setup.
4th gen has the VGT foot.
3rd gen has a T3 foot.
Same turbo location.
Double check yourself before buying, but any fab shop that knows what they're doing should be able to provide you that answer as well.
