Re: Squeeze every gallon...
And yes, before some one asks...... Yes I'm adjusted for tire size....
GPS puts my trip within a mile of the overhead .
Re: Squeeze every gallon...
Not bad! I gave up my quest for 20+ mpgs when I went 35" tires. Congrats to you though! [emoji106]

Re: Squeeze every gallon...
My 4th gen was all over 630-650 on the highway. This 5th gen struggles to break 500 in stock form & daily driving, my average is about 430 :(
A tune will fix that though :)

Can you not get 20+? I'm on 35s and in the mountains and can get 20+ on highway runs.

Who here is in the 700 mile per tank club?
I had a lot of twisty hilly back roads , slogging along in 2nd or 3rd.. ( I need a tighter converter!) On this last tank...
I'm hoping to be in the 800 club soon!
Took 35.5 gal to top off.. 20.8mpg...
Not bad for a beat up ¼ mil mile beater!
What year you running? What size tank you got? Thought the biggest the cummins ever came with is a 34 gal tank?

I can get close to 20 if 100% highway driving and keep it at 70 or below. For comparison, my truck has 3.73 gears and a live front axle which doesn't help.

I updated my sig.
I have factory 35 gal with the +5.5gal rpo code, it modifys the vents or some thing, but I can get 40 in if I'm on fumes...
My 03 used to pull 800+ on a regular basis.
4x4 4.10s 35" nv5600.....

Ok I need to know what you did to get 800 on a tank. I have an 03 2500 nv5600 4x4 with 3.73 and stock size tires

That truck was a R&D test mule / Dyno mule... LOL
Over the course of 3 years it prob made 1k pulls on the Dyno, wore I don't know how many different turbos , and beta tested and developed slot of software for several major players in the industry.
In my "normal " 750hp daily driver form it typically had some hybrid 120+ hp injectors and a custom 66mm turbo....
In that same form is how it also got it's best economy....
It liked RPM, If I kept it above 2k it was happy, closer to 3 it wanted to start to work, at 4k it wanted to party.
Proof that people that love to lug the motors don't understand volumetric effiency...
My best tank ever was 850 ish doing 80+mph from Seattle to Montana and back.
Triple Nickel motors were the fuel economy Kings if properly tuned!
