How do I know the truck is in Regen Mode? - 2013 2500
Hey guys noob to the 6.7 here.
I have been running check engine light codes "P1C54 - DTC definition not found" and "P20EE - SCR NOx Catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1" for about 50 miles as I plan to delete DPF, SCR, DEF and EGR this week.
All my temp readings have been normal, but I got out of my truck yesterday and it smelt like burning chemicals.
Should I refrain from running the truck until I finish the deletes?

Hey bud!
So your MPG's will drop, it's pretty hard to notice but alot of people will hear a ticking sound when getting out of the truck or opening the door.
The truck will also tick alot when you turn it off from the exhaust cooling off.
It's perfectly normally to smell a chemical or weird smell when you shut the truck down during Regen mode.
It's all part of the system. It heats up extremely hot to help burn off the excess soot while injecting the DEF fluid and this is what your smelling.

thanks DDP, MPGs have dropped 1.0-2.0 and the truck does seem extremely hot, the heat + the smell had me worried.

You will lose some mileage because while it’s in Regen it’s dumping more fuel plus it getting extremely hot means the soot cookers are doing it’s job.
