Valair Or South Bend
Alright gents.
Now that I am deleted, it's time to think about a new clutch so I can crank up the power without worrying about destroying my factory clutch.
Looking at the Valair dual disk or the South Bend dual disk.
I was wondering if anyone with experience having either installed could weigh in.
Just looking for what the better option is.

Re: Valair or South Bend
Well @Double R Diesel is a Valair dealer. Not sure he has his installed yet or not in his new truck.

@OneTon Hey bud!
How much HP are you looking at making?
I am a south bend dealer and have a variety of different HP rated clutches.

Re: Valair or South Bend
I have a valair dual organic in my 2016 and couldn't be happier with it.
I had a dual ceramic in my last truck and never had an issue with that either.
This time I did spring for the quiet version to eliminate the floater plate noise.
I looked at both brands and it seemed to me that valair had a better method for holding the floater plate on the quiet version than South Bend.
My friend bought my old truck and it is brutal but that Valair is still going strong.

Re: Valair or South Bend
I had a South Bend street dual disc I'm my 03 6.0 Ford.
The floating ring had I believe Kevlar bumpers on it to keep it quiet and it did.
A buddy of mine had a race dual disc in his Dodge and it sounded like something coming apart in the trans, but was perfectly fine.
I didn't want that for a daily driver and was pleased with the street dual disc.
Very positive engagement and not hard to back up a trailer as it would slip some.
Not sure that South Bend is still American made and have heard that there is some trouble with their outsourcing.
Good guys to call up and talk to.
I think they all use their product and actually had me talk to "the guy with the Ford" for questions.

Re: Valair or South Bend
I will stick with Valair.
I have had many great experiences and the owner of the company is a great guy who stands behind his product.

Re: Valair or South Bend
I am in the same boat.
Need a clutch so I can turn it up.
I think I slipped the stock clutch on the 90hp tune.
I wish it was a landslide on which way to go, but as mixed as the opinions are, it sounds like you can't really go wrong either way.

Re: Valair or South Bend
Is this for auto trans or manual.
And if for auto what does it cost to put one in?
Thanks

Re: Valair or South Bend
He is definitely talking about a manual trans.
