    Re: Hand Calculated Fuel Mileage?

Upon further calculation, I'm not sure what my math is, but here it is: 46,263 miles divided by 2,989 gallons = 15.47 MPG.

My spreadsheet average showed 15.3, but the calculation is a little higher.

Is that true blue or Common Core?

I always thought math was math.

At most, I glance at the lie o meter, out of boredom.

Other than that, I put the nozzle in and filled the tank. “What kind of mileage do you get with that”?

My reply is, “all of them”. My favorite second line to the combined question of “what does a truck like that cost, and what do you get for mileage”?

Answer: “If you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it.”

I bought it because it does a job, actually several, and I wanted it.

If it got 20-25 towing, I’d certainly be tickled.

I haven't done a straight highway trip yet, but my normal commute combines bumper-to-bumper and highway.

    Pre-weight loss, I'd average around 14.

Post weight loss, we're up to 17.

The Lie-O-Meter shows 26 if I reset it at 70mph on a flat Florida highway but haven't taken a long trip in the truck yet.

I talked with my wife about our youngest son, who graduated in 2016.

Common core took hold in 2010; the kid doesn’t have legible writing skills, as in cursive.

He is a wizard at most anything else, despite the public school system.

He could do pretty complex math problems in his head( thanks to my nephew); teachers thought he was cheating until he showed them they gave him problems, and he’d solve them faster than the teacher.

No calculator, pencil, or paper is used, and he counts his fingers.

    Go figure.

He is a child of an old school upbringing where I had him helping me renovate houses at seven years old.

A Karen once threatened me for having him slide me shingles on a 3/12 patio roof.

My response: "Better to learn a skilled trade than play video games all day; move along." He always gets fantastic reviews for his work ethic, quality, speed, and efficiency.

He has a building trades degree, but he likes machines, so he is an operator and seems to enjoy it.

I'm not a fan of our new indoctrination centers masquerading as schools and college campuses.

    Ok, rant over.

Common core: my truck knocks down 225mpg. 2+2=5
